INPUT IMPACT
durational Echtzeitmusik on Air in collaboration with Heroines of Sound Editions: Jane in Ether
15.12.2020 13:00-18:00 from Collegium Hungaricum Berlin & aProStudio Budapest broadcasted on Cashmere Radio
Input Impact, the format that creates a bridge between Berlin’s and Budapest’s improvised music scene for the third time is finally happening to end this year of nightmares. Originally it was supposed to happen in April and since then it has been replanned and reorganised three times. We believe that the final version is Corona- and regulation-proof.
Instead of two days in one location Input Impact now is merged into one long day, but simultaneously at least in two locations. Most of the Berlin-based artists perform in Collegium Hungaricum Berlin while the majority of the Hungarian ones streams from Apro Studio in Budapest. Their voices meet on an online audio streaming platform where they play with and react to each other in real-time. This is all broadcasted live on Cashmere Radio (Berlin - 88,4 MHz. Potsdam - 90,7 MHz). Time becomes a focal point of the event for two reasons. On the one hand, all artists are aware of the latency that might occur during their communication. On the other hand they learn to deal with this slight delay, because there is one single improvised set stretched out in time that all the sixteen performers musically contribute to in various formations.
Heroines of Sound Editions brings Jane in Ether, the Berlin Trio to Input Impact that makes real-time composition prior to the four-hour-long durational piece. The overall event is video documented in all locations and a full-length concert video will be published days after the live broadcast.
